A green-screen shot may look simple when it is filmed. The final scene can be completely different.

The background may be replaced. An unwanted object may disappear. A CGI element may be added. The colours and lighting may need adjustment. By the end, all these separate elements have to look as though they were captured together.

That is the work of compositing. The VFX & Compositing Program in Noida at OREAL World introduces students to the process of turning separate visual elements into one believable shot. Students learn techniques such as chroma keying, rotoscoping, tracking, masking, matchmoving, clean-up, colour correction, and visual integration.

But compositing is not simply about placing one image over another. The elements need to match the scene. Perspective, lighting, colour, shadows, focus, scale, and movement all affect whether an effect looks convincing.

Students therefore learn to look at the complete shot and understand why something feels realistic or not. The programme provides exposure to Adobe After Effects and Nuke, helping students understand both layer-based and node-based approaches to compositing.

Practical projects turn these techniques into production-style work. Students can build green-screen composites, tracked shots, CGI integrations, and cinematic VFX shots that can become part of a portfolio or showreel.
